Satsuma orange is commonly known as Citrus unshiu originated from Unshiu area in China and was generated by mutation 400 years ago in Japan Kagoshima (Satsuma). It is unique to Japan and regarded as fruit for perpetual youth and longevity. Satsuma orange is rich in carbohydrates, vitamin C, dietary fiber, and carotenoids such as β-cryptoxanthin and β-carotene. Only about 1 gram of β-cryptoxanthin can be extracted from 4000 citruses (Satsuma orange). It is beneficial in the prevention of osteoporosis with its inhibitory effect on osteoclasts production and calcium retention.
Red algae calcium
Red algae calcium is a natural mineral source produced from Lithothamnion Calcaereum and it is suitable for vegetarians and people of all ages. The seaweed is harvested from the seabed off the West coast of Ireland and North West coast of Iceland from clear, pollution free, mineral rich Atlantic waters. Lithothamnion absorbs calcium into its cell walls to create a rigid honeycomb cell structure which makes the calcium more bioactive and less potential to cause constipation and kidney stone than calcium derived from other sources. Calcium is very essential in human growth, muscle contraction, building strong bones and teeth, blood clotting, nerve impulse, transmission, regulating heart beat and fluid balance within cells. The requirements are greatest during the period of growth such as childhood, elderhood, and during pregnancy when breast feeding.
